Russian telecom operator MegaFon recently announced that the company has chosen Huawei and NSN (Nokia Siemens Networks) to supply network equipment for its 3G network deployment in Russia during the period 2010-2011, according to Reuters. Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent and ZTE also participated in the 3G equipment tender floated by MegaFon but did not win the tender. MegaFon stated that the company is yet to rule out the possibilities to enter into separate collaboration agreements with either ZTE or Alcatel-Lucent. MegaFon's testing process for ZTE and Alcatel-Lucent equipment are currently underway.
